I even tried uninstalling it in the Device Manager and reinstalling it several times, but that didn’t help.
It worked once for one hour, but not again after that. I tried it in different ports and unplugged it and plugged it in many times. Even when I used Skype, it would list the Blue Snowball, but it was greyed out and not selectable. When I plugged in my Snowball, Windows 8 would detect it and set it up as a USB microphone, but when I went into Sound Recording options, it was not listed as a microphone to set as a device. Well, I’ve never had mine plugged in upside down. I’ve Googled around but the only answers seem to pertain to turning the plug upside down and plugging it into the microphone the correct way.
I have had problems getting my Blue Snowball microphone to work on Windows 8.
